To promote the eccentric art book, Ugly, by Stephen Bayley (Co-founder of The Design Museum) Ettinger PR hosted London’s first “Ugly” party at the quirky Brunswick Café.

We put on an “ugly” display of ghoulish objects and revolting curios, including a stuffed pug giving birth to a flying pig! We even went as far as to track down celebrity dog Mugly who won the award for the world’s ugliest dog – he became the star of the night.

Other guests included people from the Ugly Model Agency. We created a menu of  “ugly” cocktails and “ugly” canapés with Brunswick’s chef. The message was clear – beauty is boring, but ugliness is fascinating. Renowned for our imaginative events, this one really gave all the press something to write about.

The event and book featured in an incredibly diverse range of publications including Sunday Times Style, Psychologies, Tatler, Elle Decoration,  Independent, Telegraph, Financial Times, Spectator and all the leading design press (Dezeen, Creative Review, New Design, Architect’s Journal, Elle Decoration). Who knew that ugly could be so popular.
